My daughter Brooke was invited to attend a gymnastics class with a friend today and I'm happy to report she absolutely love it. Makes me wonder why I didn't think about signing her up for something like this before. She's 2 1/2, which is an age where they love to push boundaries...or at least mine does. She loves to jump and climb and this seemed to be the perfect outlet for her to do it all, without getting into trouble for jumping on the couch or climbing places she really shouldn't.
One of the things I've decided to put forth this year is to get out of the house a little more (even though it's sometimes hard with a newborn and two year old) and ensure my daughter gets involved in more activities with other children her age. This is especially important before she heads off to Pre School in September, as interaction with other kids is imperative to her social development. Before my son Wyatt was born, Brooke had all my attention and now juggling two, I think it's important she becomes a little more independant and getting out and playing with others more often is part of that process.
All in all, it was a great day and beyond deciding to sign her up for a gymnastic class in my area, I've also decided to enroll her in a Mommy and Me dance class.
If you live in the Calgary area and need an activity to get you out of the house and your little one moving, I highly recommend looking into the Gymtastics Gym Club.
'Til another day as a SAHM...

Hello Blogging World...
No one said being a stay at home mom (otherwise referred to as a SAHM) was easy, but add a second child into the mix and it can be downright challenging. First off, let me say hello to my fellow bloggers and introduce myself. I'm a Canadian mother of two under the age of three years old. My oldest, who I will introduce later, is 2 1/2, while our newest addition is only five weeks old. Needless to say, my life is filled with a lot of sleepless nights right now.
Reason for writing this blog you may be asking...well for starters it's a great way to touch on my creative side (I have a communications background) and hopefully help others who are wading through the hectic world of raising children in today's world.
My hope is to touch on topics that any stay at home mom would appreciate from tips and tricks of raising a toddler and a baby, to everyday concerns or questions we may have.
So here we go!
